helllooooo! hope you all are okay
right now i'm working on the sprites. originally i wanted to do that silly and goofy style you saw in the demo, but when i started drawing the new characters for the festival, i realized that THEY WERE OVERpolished??? like, imagine a near-sketchy Cava and some overdesigned sprite next to her.
I still want to keep that goofy vibe the sprites have anyway, so I won't do anything major, but... eh.
of course i'm not REdrawing the sprites again. i'm just polishing them up a bit and that's it! (I won't change Tiller (probably), he's already perfect lol)
I also plan on redoing the menu, but haven't started working on that yet
usual questions: 1) what do you think about NSFW (like, intimate stuff, not blood(the blood will be there anyway))? when i play datesims, i sometimes miss such explicit elements. but i don't know if players will be comfortable seeing it. at the very beginning of development, i wanted to add a “don't include explicit moments in the story” feature, but then i realized that if i do NSFW elements, they will most likely be plot important and not worth skipping. any thoughts? (I don't think I want to add a choice like "Stop him" "Let him do that" kind of stuff because as I said it'd probably be too plot-important to skip)
2) do you already have an image in your head about how you imagine your main character? who are they? I'm curious :D
3) would you like to see creepy things in the game?
4) is the font okay to read? do I need to make it brighter or bigger, smaller etc. ?

1) It's okay! With anything that is NSFW after all I always read the warnings of the games if there's something im not comfortable with, if NSFW scenarios are important for the plot... I don't think you should avoid adding them in the game since as far as ive seen that some choices appear depending on the dialogue you have chosen previously so... I believe that they player would be aware of where it's going?
2) I love to self-insert in any type of media I consume, I've only thought of how could they look like but nothing I could share. (´。＿。｀)
3) I would love to! I love horror and creepy stuff in games!
4) Yes it is but it looks slightly different in the dialogues, it could help if you make them a bit more bright... Or bigger? 🤔 I didn't struggled reading any dialogue but I think it might not be the case for others.

Hehe, i only have like one OC but I created that one for a roleplay i wanted to be part..... When it comes to dating sims, i prefer to self-insert myself.

1) I honestly would love NSFW moments in the game but you do whatever makes you most comfortable!!
2) My Character to me personally is just a nerdy 27 year old redheaded scientist lollll, Personality wise I imagine shes the Jealous type as when our character went out with Zu and his friends, I always made sure his attention was on me.
3) I think it all depends on what the creepy stuff entails.
4) I think adding options in the menu to make the words bigger and bolder would be a great option! I personally have trouble reading words in visual novels if they blend to much into the background/are wayyy too small.

1) lowkey NSFW stuff makes games more memorable for me especially since it really brings you into the moment as a player + you can emphasize zuzu and mc's relationship in a more particular and intimate way. it just makes it all the more immersive personally!!:D for these scenes,I would honestly just add some options that glaze over the nsfw scenes (replace with another almost equally as intimate of a scene except it's not sexual, similar to the ones you had for the demo like the kitchen scenes lmao) and still keep the important aspects like the lines exchanged, lore, or whatever need be so the storyline and immersion isn't lost with a gap of some sort.
3) honestly i really like the vibe with the current demo !! it's very cozy. I can see the storyline going down some kind of dystopian route but i'm not sure if I'd like to see that ahh. you can either highlight the characters more with the creepy scenes or the overall setting and world building a little more and I think I prefer the latter to perhaps emphasize zuzu and mc's relationship again since the game is mostly about them two at the end of the day! (I think I would enjoy anything you make though I loved the demo a lot and I can't wait for more!!)

1. I don't mind NSFW, and I'm definitely curious about the plot-importance. Like others said, a fade-to-black for those who'd like to abstain would be neat, and maybe you could somehow include a short little blurb about the important stuff.
2. Somehow, I don't really imagine the MC with a body. They are a disembodied voice that only has limbs when mentioned lol.
3. Oh I would love to see creepy things in the game. Peace and love to Zu, but the lack of mouth and his general face has wonderful potential to be unsettling. Furthermore, I feel like the visuals would lend well to some creepy moments.
4. I think the font is really readable and matches the vibes of the game, I have not had any problems reading it. Although, I have to admit,,,,for a short bit I read your name as Anier instead of finier because of this font...oops! Luckily, I didn't make that mistake in the game because it is in all caps!
1) Yes I do like NSFW stuff, especially when it is plot important. You could do two versions, like a more explicit scene and then one that glosses over it more? Like some games will specifically reference genitalia or have an option to omit specific references to it, that kind of thing. As others suggested you could also simply fade to black for those who don’t wanna read it if you’d think that’d work, too! Honestly if you don’t wanna do that though, just warning that there are non-skippable explicit scenes is also fine. Like people don’t can skim it/not read it lol
2) I usually try to make an MC that fits the Vibes of whatever game I’m currently playing. Definitely picture a more androgynous MC for Magenta, maybe femme leaning. Messy, fluffy hair they probably just run their fingers through to “comb” it since they seem to be a bit of a mess lol lots of just t-shirts and shorts, maybe a plaid shirt overtop. If they do “dress up” I picture them going for the “hot goth GF” look for some reason idk. On the shorter side but wears platforms to make up for it.ADHD haver like me (and also they kept forgetting shit which. Big Mood). Friendly but kind of Awkward around strangers, but suddenly becomes a lot more social if they're around someone even more awkward (like our sweet boy), tends to spoil the people they care about/can be easily swayed by them. Bit touch-starved which is how they're rationalizing hanging off Zu/letting him hang off them even tho I think a tiny part of them worries it could stunt his relationship(s) with others (but they really like him/the attention so. Torn.)
3) Yeah!! I mean, it IS a yandere game so it’d fit.
4) Font is good for me! I know some people add dyslexia friendly fonts which might be nice if you can swing it? But I’m not dyslexic so idk

my MC is the same for magenta, sorta androgynous looking woman with a pixie haircut who loves her ☆Xx_$UPER_GAMING_DEVICE_xX☆ (probably she wouldve married it if zu hadnt been created) aand she loves zu too of course

Yes, I like this idea! Having the option to fade it is a witty idea since it is plot-important.

2) I imagined a woman in her late 20s in regards to her young speech patterns, and since the name color was a lighter pink from Zu's Pallet, I imagined the same with her appearance in terms of color, and it seems cute to have them have the same color but a different shades like he has a part of her. I also imagined her to have a more messy appearance or just less put-together concerning her dialogue choices and carefree vibe.
3) Absolutely; it already has a nice off-putting atmosphere, so I think it would fit in nicely. and I think if you have the mood of the game dependent on the choices of the MC, it would also be something nice to ponder about, so it would be according to if she was especially kind and sincere to him, or neglecting and avoident, or jelouse and clingy, or whatever on that end.
4) I think it's perfect. I find some fonts very bothersome to read that I would prefer to use my glasses although I don't need them, but this one was very clear; in fact, it gives off a fitting vibe for this specific genre.
The game was very fun, and although I had an event to attend half-way through the demo, I was very feverish to return home as soon as possible and continue it. It has a very interesting and promising plot, and I wish you all the best on this project. I was very impressed by this demo; it is VERY well done! I wanted to ask you if you have done anything like this before? Or what's the story behind this project?

I appreciate NSFW when its done well. I think most people enjoy it. Just stay away from flowery language and you should be ok. For my character, when they are not seen, I tend to just self insert. So, like a 30's woman with a pink curly mullet and face piercings. Creepy things are fun, the whole feel of the game so far gives me a cozy dread vibe so it would fit right in. The font is perfect! I actually have an eye condition and despite that it was easy to read and didn't strain the eye too much. I have seen in other games occasionally they have an option to make the text bigger but I have no idea if that is easy to code. But if it is having it a little bigger (or the option to switch it) would be nice. For questions, (forgive me if answered elsewhere) do you have a discord for the game?
